Protestors call for changes to economic model

Around 1,000 people, according to police estimations, marched through downtown Madrid on Sunday in a demonstration organized by the 15-M Movement, demanding changes to the current government and economic models.

At a rally that took place in Sol, 15-M organizers called for a boycott of next Sunday's general elections, which they charged are rigged to only favor the Popular Party (PP) and the Socialists.

Demonstrators carried signs reading: "Spanish democracy has been kidnapped by the markets" and shouted slogans in protest of the two major candidates for prime minister.

When questioned by reporters, organizers declined to say whether they will hold another protest on election day.
