The Civil Guard has found the body of a woman lying on a sofa in a Madrid apartment more than a year after she died.
Authorities have named the deceased only as Ángela G.G, aged 52, whose body was found in the small Madrid town of Valdilecha in the southeast of the capital.
The body showed no signs of violence and the first results of an autopsy suggest she died of natural causes
Officers were alerted a few weeks ago by neighbors, who said they had not seen the woman since the end of 2013.
The Civil Guard launched an investigation, and a court order was attained to enter her apartment.
The body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, showed no signs of violence, and the first results of an autopsy suggest she died of natural causes.
In December 2015, building workers in Cádiz discovered the body of a woman in an apartment block who had not been seen by neighbors for five years.
