Spanish lawyer held by militia in Libya

A Spanish lawyer working for the International Criminal Court (ICC) is being held along with three other colleagues by a militia in the Libyan city of Zintan.
Esteban Peralta Losilla had traveled to the city on June 7 to meet with Saif El Islam, son of late dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who the militia is refusing to hand over to Libyan authorities. Two of his colleagues were accused of trying to pass a recording device to Saif El Islam and detained.
Although Peralta was free to leave, he and another mission member decided to remain. The ICC and the National Transitional Council (NTC) are locked in a battle to bring Saif El Islam to trial. The NTC does not want to see him extradited, but he is unlikely to get a fair trial in Libya.
